Oops. I seem to have gone and made myself a Legend of Korra OC. 8|

Whatever, he's been looming around in the depths of my brain for a week now. I had to at least let him out.

He doesn't have a name yet (because trust me, I take FOREVER to decide on a name), he's not anyone's love interest, and he's definitely ...not the friendliest guy on the block. What I DO have figured out of his backstory, isn't ...pleasant. And I hope to God that I'm not pushing my luck with it. <xD;; Y'all probably won't see him again for a while, anyway, since, I technically didn't even have time to draw him last night.

But basically, he's an Equalist. He was out one night with his girlfriend when they were approached by some members of one of the gangs/mobs in the area, which is an unfortunate regular occurrence for them. The head of that particular group wouldn't stop harassing his girlfriend, and when he acted in her defense, the bender attempted to resort to blood-bending* to try dragging her to them. ...and being almost entirely ill-practiced in the act of blood-bending, he killed her. Horrified and enraged, he made move to attack the gang member, but in the panic, another attempt at blood-bending cost him his arm. (This is really hard to describe without names)

Still emotionally broken by the loss of his loved one as well as his arm, he had little to no hesitation stepping up when he heard of Amon's movement. At first the equalists denied him because of his condition, but, he proved to have more than the determination and drive needed to make up for it. He relies heavily on his speed and wit when in combat. He has it out specifically for water benders, believing that no person should have the power to control or destroy you from the inside.

Random trivia:

He still has both of his parents. They're aware that he's an Equalist and quietly support and protect him, despite that his mother is a bit indifferent to benders.
He doesn't have much of a life outside of being an Equalist due to the fact that his missing arm makes him distinctive and recognizable. He spends most of his 'free time' training, studying (such hideouts as library basements), or avoiding other Equalists if he can due to fear of attachment.
He keeps a photo of his girlfriend under his pillow. ...he misses her a lot...pretty sure he was considering proposing to her, too.
There's a lizard-crow that follows him around sometimes when he does get out to the back-alleys or whatever. He calls it "Strudel" because it tried stealing an apple strudel from him once, but found out that it hated apples.

But that's all I know about him as of now. I'll still toy with him off and on, and I don't know if he ever has any direct interaction with the main characters of the series. Even if he did, it certainly wouldn't be pleasant. Especially with Korra. Evil water benders...Avatar...

*Reason for blood-bending: Okay, so, here's my thought process and please tell me if this IS too far-fetched. But, I figured that all those people Hama more or less kidnapped would talk about what happened to them (because people...talk), so, regardless of if Katara ever taught blood-bending (which I would think she wouldn't), word of blood-bending would still get around. It'd become more of a mythos of water-benders. Aaand for every myth, you have your handful of people who go chasing after it to see if it's real; especially those looking for power/wealth/etc. And considering lightning and metal bending is almost used as a resource now (power plant/police force), it's possible that water benders in the gangs/mobs are seeking out blood bending as a way to gain more territory. SO YEAH, that's my theory/reasoning. Obviously they haven't quite figured it out yet, since they killed a girl and burst a guy's arm.
